The series, which will explore three areas each season, will host community managers from different fields with the moderation of Atılım Şahin, ATÖLYE’s Creative Hub Director and a community curator himself. The topics of the first season, taking place between October 2019 and April 2020, are design, technology, and entrepreneurship. Our guests for the first chapter, “Design”, are local communities; Tasarım Mutfağı, UX’minimal, and UX Folks; followed by the second chapter “Technology” with guests Deep Learning Turkey, Frontend Istanbul, Türkiye AI Topluluğu; and finally the third chapter “Entrepreneurship” with Girişimci Muhabbeti, Starters Hub, and Startup Grind Istanbul.
This is Figma's First Istanbul workshop. We're going to talk about how to create a design system from scratch, using reusable styles, texts, colors, icons and components that can be shared across your team in FIGMA. We will also give an overview of how we created the Design System for complex SAAS products of Insider. We’ll learn how to communicate our designs to developers so that everyone is in sync.

Organized by the Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts under the sponsorship of Koç Holding, the 16th Istanbul Biennial is preparing to host many different works of art that look at art from different disciplines such as ecology and anthropology.
The Young Architects Selection & Exhibition that presents the selected architects not only with their projects but also with their overall creative approach, opened at The Circle on September 6th. The exhibition that shows not only the selected architects’ presentation panels, but also elements like objects, models, videos and sketches will be open until November 30th. GEMSS provides a comprehensive view of today’s architectural practices by introducing architects who represent practices as varied as building design and production, temporary space designs, product design, research, publication and education and who contribute to the culture of architecture in Turkey in a multi-faceted way.
GEMSS continues to contribute to the architectural culture through panels and discussions. Following the first panel titled “Being a Young Architect,” the second panel organized within GEMSS brings together architects from three different generations. In the panel moderated by GEMSS curator Sait Ali Köknar, Doğan Tekeli, Kerem Erginoğlu and Pınar Gökbayrak will talk about the meaning of architectural practices in their own time, about the processes that changed the architectural practice and about their own experiences. Everyone interested in the architectural culture is invited.
